THE FIRST PURGE - Directed by Gerard McMurray and starring
Y'lan Noel, The First Purge is the 4th installment of The Purge
horror franchise. Its script was written by James DeMonaco, he wrote them all
but this is the first not directed by him. The Purge franchise consists of The
Purge (2013), The Purge: Anarchy (2014), The Purge: Election Year (2016) and
The First Purge (2018) along with a TV series also bearing the name The Purge. The
series imagines what might happen if all crimes, including murder, were
temporarily legalized for 12 hours once per year.
